How to get the Jewel Sword in SotN

The guaranteed Jewel Sword pickup is in the normal castle Entrance, behind a secret opened by crossing the rock tunnel in both bat and wolf form. Discus Lord in the Catacombs is the alternative enemy-drop source.
Prerequisites
Collect Soul of Wolf from the Outer Wall and Soul of Bat from the Long Library. Activate both relics. You need the transformations, not the later wolf or bat attack upgrades. The relic navigation guide covers the route to Bat.
Open the Entrance secret room
- Return to the normal castle Entrance and find the large chamber with Mermen below and a large rock in the middle.
- Break the walls on both sides of the rock to open the small horizontal tunnel. The Pot Roast inside is a useful landmark.
- From the left side, transform into a bat and fly all the way through the tunnel to the right.
- On the right, become a wolf and walk back through the tunnel to the left. Complete both crossings rather than changing form halfway.
- Go to the lower-left corner of the large chamber. The secret passage is now open; enter and collect the Jewel Sword.

Alternative drop and common mistakes
Discus Lord in the Catacombs can also drop the sword, but that is a random drop rather than a guaranteed pickup. Farming is unnecessary if both transformation relics are available. No drop percentage is asserted here.
The inverted counterpart of the Entrance secret contains a Beryl Circlet, not another Jewel Sword. Check that you are in the normal castle if the reward is wrong. Questions
Why did the secret door stay shut?
Break both tunnel ends and cross the full tunnel as a bat from left to right, then as a wolf from right to left. Look for the opened doorway at the chamber's lower-left, not inside the rock.
Do I have to farm Discus Lord?
No. The Entrance puzzle gives a fixed pickup. Discus Lord in the Catacombs is a separate random-drop option.
