Is Nocturne a sequel?
Last updated . Sources are linked in the text.
Nocturne is a later-generation sequel/spin-off in the Netflix continuity, not season 5 under a new label. Its game inspirations do not make it a continuation of a Symphony save file.

Show to show
| Question | Castlevania | Nocturne |
|---|---|---|
| Lead hunter | Trevor Belmont | Richter Belmont |
| Main setting | 15th-century Wallachia | France during the French Revolution |
| Released seasons / episodes | 4 / 32 | 2 / 16 |
| Where to start | Season 1, episode 1 | After the original, or as a later-generation entry point |
Nocturne continues the animated world with a later Belmont generation and returning connections, rather than restarting Trevor's story. The shared world does not make it the fifth season of the original title. Watch the original first to preserve the context of returning characters.
Show versus Symphony of the Night
Symphony of the Night is a 1997 game about Alucard in 1797. Nocturne is not that game and not a remake of it. Chinese titles have used similar wording for the game and the show. If you wanted the game, use the game page and Requiem or the mobile port.
