This chronology separates established story dates, side continuities and the Lords of Shadow reboot. A historical setting mentioned by a later game is not a released game of its own.

Order of Ecclesia belongs in the 19th century without an exact year. The community chronology transcribes older chronology material; it is a secondary reference, not a newly issued official canon ruling. Lords of Shadow belongs to a separate reboot.
Canon versus a game that exists
A game can exist and still be filed as a side story on the IGA-era chart. Circle of the Moon, the Nintendo 64 games, and Legends are in that group on the transcribed chart. "Side story" is not the same sentence as "you should not play it."

Questions
Is the whole series canon?
No single sentence covers every release. The chart above separates side stories and leaves the reboot off the list.
What happened in 1999?
The Demon Castle War is described and never made into a game. See the status page.
